Saturday Night with Marcus Miller & Friends will kick things off on October 10th with the iconic 10-time Grammy Award winner George Benson as a Special Guest. Both Marcus and Featured Band Guest, Joey DeFrancesco, the king of the organ, will be performing with the amazing Saturday Night Band, led by Patrice Rushen, Eric Marienthal and Paul Jackson Jr.
The second episode on October 17th will feature two-time Grammy Award winning vocalist Gregory Porter led by the Saturday Night Band. With Patrice Rushen ford as Guest Pianist and Emcee Alonzo Bodden in the house.
This will be a can’t-miss evening of music, comedy and conversation.

Join us Wednesday, September 9th for a virtual conversation with the Honorable Holly Mitchell and Grammy Award Nominated recording artist and Chair of Popular Music at the University of Southern California, Patrice Rushen, moderated by acclaimed composer Marcus Shelby.
This event is in support of Holly Mitchell for County Supervisor (2nd District) and hosted by: Hon. Ignacio De La Fuente, Melanie Shelby and Sonya Lockett.

The Ramo Music Faculty Award, est. in 1971 is reserved for those exceptional individuals who’ve made outstanding contributions to Music, Education and Humanity. The 2020 recipient of this prestigious award is USC Pop Program chair Patrice Rushen.
As a classically trained pianist, her artistic fusion of Jazz, Pop and R&B has garnered 4 Grammy nominations and the coveted respect of the industry as one of the preeminent artists of our generation. Her decorated career spans decades across all genres in all formats from stage and radio to film and TV.
But perhaps her students and faculty love and admire her most for her unwavering commitment to, and vision for the Popular Music Program at USC and it’s mission to deliver the next generation os inspired, dedicated professionals to this art form.

Longtime Altadena resident Patrice Rushen was honored by the Altadena Arts Magnet School during the “Make Space for Art” Ribbon Cutting.
They now have a Patrice Rushen Music Studio.
