This is going to be a busy week.
I’m excited!
I will get to play some music with some musicians… all together .. in real time .. in person. For me, this will be the first time playing like this since last March!
We will of course be socially distanced, divided by plexiglass and those of us not blowing an instrument will certainly be wearing our masks!!! (We must remain vigilant and safe!)
Just the thought of playing with others is wonderful. It goes to show how important it is for me to maintain that special connection. I’m not alone in that thought. Musician’s feel it when they play together. The give and take, the constant listening, the call and response, the feeling, the groove ….
The community and the communion of sharing are as much a part of the music as anything else. I’ve missed having all that!
In whatever we do, let’s all maintain the practice of taking care of ourselves and each other. Stay smart, stay cautious, wear your masks, wash your hands, practice social distancing …. let’s do our best get this virus under control in whatever ways we can.
